Julie Stewart is president and founder of FAMM and a crusader for reform in sentencing laws. Ms. Stewart founded FAMM in 1991 after her brother was sentenced to five years in federal prison for growing marijuana. She has appeared on many national television and radio shows including CBS News CNN News, MTV, 48 Hours and MacNeil/Leher News Hour. She is the recipient of the Thomas Szasz Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Cause of Civil Liberties, and the Champion of Justice Award from the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
