StarSite Pricing
StarSite components
There are three essential Nucleus components as part of a StarSite web application:
- STARSITE - the dynamic web processing account
- StarMaint - Web content management
- StarGate - Web process monitor
The Nucleus components work in concert with content managed by StarMaint, including:
- Nucleus based Rule sets
- HTML templates
- Functions
- Links
- Linked material
StarSite
- Web process support Account
- StarSite can dynamically generate HTML
- The StarSite account is required on each system that supports a Nucleus based web application.
Pricing for the StarSite engine is as follows:

There is NO charge for the StarSite engine, if either:
- Client has participated in a minimum of 5 day StarSite training
- Client has contracted with Binary Star professional services to develop a web application
Pre-requisites are Nucleus licensing and a good understanding of HTML.
Discussion
A minimal Nucleus configuration must be licensed on a development system, which would include the Nucleus Software Development kit and 3 concurrent users.
On a production system where no development or web application modification occurs, a StarSite account must be resident and licensed. An appropriate number of listeners to support the anticipated web application is suggested. A minimum of three Nucleus licenses dedicated to the Web application are required. There would be NO charge for the StarSite account, and NO additional charge for the first ten listeners.
On a system where StarSite web applications are developed and/or modified, a StarSite account must be resident and licensed. StarMaint must be licensed and properly configured. An appropriate number of listeners to support the anticipated web application (either development or production) is suggested. A minimum of three Nucleus licenses dedicated to the Web application are required. IF the license site has contracted with Binary Star Professional Services to create a web application OR technical staff at the licensed site has attended a minimum five day Nucleus StarSite training, there is NO charge for StarSite.
Pre-requisites for StarSite training include:
- Nucleus licensing and basic Nucleus knowledge.
- Understanding of HTML to enable creating a web page with tables and input fields from scratch.
If the development site has not attended the ten day Nucleus StarSite training or has not contracted with Binary Star Professional Services, there would be a charge for StarSite based on the above StarSite Pricing table.
